Profile

After graduating from the University of Huddersfield in 2020, I worked in the hospitality and retail sectors before joining the Learning Development Team in January 2024.

My role within the team involves supporting the day-to-day administration of our student-facing offer including; designing and creating promotional materials, gathering and providing data for colleagues as needed and the administrative tasks required to support our workshops and student appointments. I regularly work with student Writing Mentors who contribute to the Skills@Library section of the Library blog.

I am also the administrator for the Writing Space which is a peer-mentoring scheme that takes place in the Laidlaw Library. This includes organising the rotas and timesheets to be sent to HR, supporting with the recruitment process and being on the panel for the interviews as well as other day-to-day administrative tasks to support the Writing Mentors. Following issues around the Writing Space tables not being available during opening hours and Writing Mentor visibility, I also designed and liaised with Print Copy Bureau for table stickers and t-shirts to be made. This helped the Writing Mentors be more visible to students and also meant that the Writing Space branding was on the tables along with the opening times so students would know when the tables were in use.

More recently, I have become one of two administrators for the Digital Capabilities Working Group, this involves supporting with the agenda, taking minutes during the meetings and keeping the group’s action log updated.
